Grace
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! Earlier this year I started on an online radio station called QCIndie.com. I rarely talk about it on here as I feel its target audience differs greatly, but I wanted to give thanks to a co-admin named Jess. She loves Grace Slick and is one of the few who’d get this strip without having to Google it. She doesn’t post much, but when she does, it’s always appreciated. So thank you, and thank you to all my fans who read and support my strip!
Magic Act
Welcome to this week’s Forgotten Friday! (This won’t become a regular thing, I promise)
Today’s strip was originally posted December 5, 2008.
There’s a lot of reasons as to why Jeff Jr. started appearing less regularly in the strip. In fact, the idea of Jeff Jr. himself came from someone I went to school with, so in a way it always felt like I “stole” it from him. (I pay homage to this by making Jeff Jr’s outfit nearly identical to Alvin’s from Alvin and the Chipmunks.) And while the idea of a mischievous enemy to Picpak sounded good at the time, over time I realized Picpak’s biggest enemy is common sense. Still, it’s nice to see Jeff Jr. in his classic brattish self. And like I’ve always said, Hank from Addanac City does what Jeff Jr. does so much better.
GoComics! Picpak Dog! Maybe you’ve put those words together, maybe you haven’t. But now you can by reading him over at Comics Sherpa!
On Call
Welcome to this week’s Way Back Wednesday!
Today’s strip was originally posted September 7, 2007.
This comic originally starred Charlie, but there’s just one problem with that: he can’t talk! So then I thought I would use Picpak Cat, but his name is Picpak too! Finally, Jeff Jr. seemed like the one that made the most sense. In the original, the phone sits on a table that’s about as tall as Charlie’s foot. Funny how you don’t notice these things until years later…
Is one site not enough? Do you want to read me on GoComics too? You’re in luck! Read Picpak on Comics Sherpa here.
Socks
Could it be? Am I back from break? I could be…but I knew I just had to draw this one. This came from an actual conversation!
