Welcome to this week’s Way Back Wednesday!
Today’s strip was originally posted August 12, 2007.
Do I have exciting news for you! Picpak Dog is now a part of Comic Chameleon! What’s that, you ask? It’s a comic reading app for iPhone and iPad (and soon Android) that makes reading comics on a small screen an ease. I’m part of an elite group of some very high-profile strips, such as Nedroid, Dinosaur Comics and XKCD, as well as personal favourites like Tomversation and PC Weenies. What better way to celebrate than with one of my most iconic strips? This is one of my all-time favourites, and is one of the first strips I posted online. So, if you have iOS, please make sure to check out the app and start reading Picpak on your mobile device today!
Helium Challenge
The other day Warren Frantz challenged me to the Helium Challenge. It’s a lot like the Ice Bucket Challenge, in the sense that they both have “challenge” in their names. No charities benefit, and no one gets wet, but we do raise awareness of cartoon physics…and in the end, isn’t that what really matters?
The infamous Jon Esparza came up with this idea, and the rules are simple: draw a comic with a helium gag, challenge up to two other cartoonists, and use the tag #HeliumChallenge when posting. I’ve put Mark Stokes up to the challenge, but don’t worry, there’s no deadline! So take your time and have fun with it!
The Future
You may have noticed a subtle nod to Mark Stokes’ Zombie Boy in the first frame. Did you know he has a Kickstarter for a Zombie Boy comic book? Go support it today!

Try not to overthink this one. Picpak didn’t.
