The security guard’s design was largely influenced by Cobra Bubbles from Lilo & Stitch, which just came out when this comic was made (Yes, they’re that old!)
This also marks the first online appearance of Mr. Blob, a character that was written out of the strip long before it went on the web. In what can only be defined as a shark-jumping moment, Mr. Blob was an alien that evolved from a record player (no, seriously) and whose catchphrase was “Darnie”. Good riddance! However, with Goober and Cindy ending, someone else might need to fill the gap…
Two years ago, crazy comic extraordinaire Jon Esparza held his first Crazy Cartoon Experiment. It spawned one of my most popular comics, where Picpak goes on a helium-filled trip that doesn’t quite go as planned. Click to see it below:
Two years later, and Picpak’s still being inflated! Some things never change, do they? At this rate, Picpak might as well purchase a Cactus World yearly pass!
Jon’s current Crazy Cartoon Experiment is to draw a monster cereal box. Read more about it and enter today!

Picpak was mixing comedy and magic long before it was cool. Well, if it ever was cool…
