Guest Strip by Tim Green
Since my Internet isn’t getting hooked up until later today, here’s another great #VivaPicpak guest strip by Vinnie the Vampire creator Tim Green! We’ve shared fan art back and forth for years now, but when Tim’s site got hacked he had his own hashtag at #VivaVinnie. I hope this comic makes it quite clear that Picpak isn’t going anywhere. And he makes a great Energizer Bunny impression, doesn’t he? Thanks for all the support over the years, Tim, and thank you for this strip!
Guest Strip by P.J. Day
Hi guys, since I’m still in the middle of moving here’s a guest strip by P.J. Day of Flatt Bear. I recently drew some fan art for him (which I hope he posts soon) so I figured it’d be nice to share his own as well. There’s nothing Picpak loves more than wordplay and cakes, especially when they’re mayonnaise!
Picpak’s on GoComics, but he’s not syndicated so don’t go thinking crazy ideas. Check him out on Comics Sherpa!
Let ‘Em In
Fan Art by Mark Stokes
I can’t begin to tell you how surreal seeing others draw your characters is. It’s fascinating to see what stays the same and what changes, and what little nuances each creator picks up on.
I mention that because even as Laurel and Hardy, Mark has Picpak and Wakky’s excited expressions down pat. If you don’t know who Mark Stokes is, he’s the genius creator of the webcomic Zombie Boy. I’ve made fan art for him in the past and recently supported his Kickstarter. So if you haven’t checked out his work, I strongly advise that you do so here! Thanks for the strip, Mark!
Taking a Break
Let me tell you, this was NOT an easy decision. I’ve literally been drawing Picpak Dog as long as I can remember, and I haven’t missed a day in four years. This is my first intentional break in…ever? Due to some personal issues (and the fact that I could just plain use a break) the comic is on a brief hiatus. I know there are a lot of you whose weekdays aren’t complete without their Picpak fix. I invite you to dig through my ginormous archive, and if that’s not enough, I have even more on Patreon. Is this the end of Picpak Dog? Far from it! Frankly, I have way too many ideas to quit now. But if you’re the type of person who makes guest strips, I’d gladly appreciate those as well. Just head over to the E-Mail page where you can send it to me.
What does this mean for Comics Sherpa? Well, I haven’t decided yet. Since it doesn’t take long to update, I might stick with it. But for now, this site is on a temporary break. Thanks for all the support, and I hope to see you again soon!
